Thanks to everyone who contributed to the outsized success of our fourth annual Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival! Fans, musical acts, vendors, local and area business and political leaders, volunteers and neighborhood leaders helped make this the biggest event ever. The schedule included a mixture of familiar favorites, national recording artists and new musical discoveries, with a horseshoe of more than a dozen vendors.
Below is a sampling of photographs and videos to commemorate the 2019 edition of the festival, held from Oct. 4-6, 2019 on the grounds of Charlie’s Place at historic Carver Street in Myrtle Beach, S.C. We’ll see you next year!
The Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, slate the fourth annual Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival began with a standout opening performance by Nicci Canada, followed by Kobie Keys, Darryl Murrill and first-night headliner Willie Bradley.
The Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 schedule began with performances by the Horry County Schools choirs and jazz bands, then continued with the Mark Rapp Quartet, the George Foreman Band and a second-night headliner show from Phill Denny, who was also backed up by George Freeman’s group.
Oracle Blue kicked off our final day, as the Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019 schedule of performers included perennial favorites Mike Frost, “Funky” Leroy Harper and Chocolate Chip and Company, along with “viral violinist” Daniel D.
