Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival Makes Donation to the Red Cross

Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival board members made a donation to the Red Cross on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, passing along funds collected from generous attendees.

Stephen Holland, donor development officer, accepted a check from Greg James, Ericka Hill and Chief Cain. They were given a brief tour where services provided by the Palmetto South Carolina Region of the American Red Cross were detailed – including disaster relief, health and safety classes, blood collection, and armed-forces outreach.

Those interested in joining their efforts as a volunteer can visit the local Red Cross website. Help is always welcomed in critical services, as well as office work, event planning, media relations and more. Officials say there’s a volunteer opportunity for everyone.

The fourth annual Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival was held Oct. 4-6, 2019 on historic Carver Street in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Featured acts during our biggest event yet included Nicci Canada, Darryl Murrill, Willie Bradley, Mark Rapp, George Freeman, Phil Denny, Oracle Blue, Daniel D and the Horry County Schools choirs and jazz bands. Check out fan-shot video of the Myrtle Beach High School’s 2019 appearance below.
