The Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival plans to return on Oct. 15-17, 2021, after canceling last year’s event amid the coronavirus pandemic. But like other non-profit organizations, a year away had a deep impact on funding.
“We need your monetary support,” Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival president and CEO Mickey James says. “We have been stricken financially by COVID-19, and funds are low for operating the festival.”
Donations are now being accepted to help underwrite this year’s event, which will again be held at the Charlie’s Place grounds on Myrtle Beach’s historic Carver Street. Those who would like to help can send your donations of any size to Friends of the Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival, P.O. Box 3139, Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29578.
James said attendees at this year’s event will also be asked to donate $10 to help with operating costs in the wake of last year’s cancellation.
